This is not a bad theater in and of itself, but it's selection is lacking. It only carries 5 films at once, and the selection is not always great. To give you and idea, this is a place that carried the legendary stinker Meet the Spartans but not Rambo (which I admit to not being the hugest fan of, but still...).

This is the best place in Raleigh to see a movie. It's smaller so not a lot of people go there, and the building has character inside and out. You don't have to deal with a bunch of young kids or "others" who talk throughout the movie. Also they offer a larger variety of refreshments than most theaters, as well as candy by the pound (when they remember to resupply). : )>

I have to give it five stars for the wonderful wall mural covering the entire exterior wall facing Avent Ferry Rd. Very nice piece of art work ("Hopeline's Wall of Hope")... Worth the trip - even if you don't like the movie.

If you don't need much in a movie theater other than the movie and a seat this is the place for you. Price is next to nothing compared to larger theaters and they have bulk candy (mmm, jelly belly)! The theater is never packed making you feel like it was a personal showing! Enjoy the show!

While not the typical mega complex that most are used to seeing these days, Mission Valley Cinema is a comparable alternative. It is one of the only movie theaters where it won't cost at least $20 to get into the door and one of two movie theaters located within the beltline. Oh and did I forget to mention that they serve beer? In addition, most weekend matinees are no where near as packed as Crossroads 20 or Raleigh Grand. Over all, I would say that Mission Valley has room for improvement, but at this point it is still the best choice in regards to both cost and comfort.
